As per N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.7(a), these permits are required unless the activity is an integral part of a process or activity that necessitates registration and regulation as a life hazard use. Permits must be kept on the premises at all times and are subject to inspection by the fire official.

Permit fees, as amended on September 25, 2018, by Ord. No. 4604-18, are as follows:

• Type 1 permits are $54
• Type 2 permits are $214
• Type 3 permits are $427
• Type 4 permits are $641
