Fire Watch / Impairment

In accordance with the New Jersey Fire Code, impairments to life safety systems in buildings, such as fire alarms and sprinkler systems, must be addressed promptly to ensure occupant safety. Per N.J.A.C. 5:70-3, specifically referencing the International Fire Code (IFC) section 901.7, any impairments to these critical systems require immediate corrective action.

When systems are out of service, a fire watch must be implemented as mandated by the fire code to ensure continuous protection until the systems are fully operational again. This proactive approach ensures compliance with safety regulations and safeguards lives and property.

All impairements must be documented utilizing TRBFP Fire Watch Form found below.
